May 1st, 2006 by jemege

Hey everyone!! haven’t blogged for a while!! i just got to warn you i’m on the biggest high coz i just read the review for les Miserables which I am a part of on Theatre people!! It’s really exciting to read your first review!! The reviewee loved it and I’m sooooooooooooooooooo pumped!!!! There are also photos on the site so if you guys want feel free to check it out!!

So as Genelle said we performed on Friday! it went well but i laughed!! Genelle can go a realli creepy little girl voice!! jess n i get soooooooooooooooooo scared!! not sure if genelle knows that so yeah putting it out there!! And stemluca’s!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WHHHHHHHHHOOOOA!!! LOVE THE LADDER!!! it’s really awesome guys!!! and you have scrpited sooooooo much!!! sooo proud of you all!! I also loved the whole setting and stylised voice and movement!! it looks amazing!!!!!!!

So afterschool today had a rehearsal….it took a while for us to get going hahhahaa!! but we did end up getting something done!! We added in a little bit to one scene which i think is really clever!! Can’t be bothered explaining it I’ll do it another time hahaha and we blocked another moses scene where he n god are having a chat about the 10 commandments!!! it should be a good one!! This scene uses narration and tableau which will be good!! hahhaa

As Mr.cash has told me plenty of times i need to work on my diction. I’m aware of it everytime I run thorught the scenes but it never seems to get any better!! lol maybe i need to go to a diction coach like on Singing in the Rain and sing Moses Supposes and tap around the bloke hahahha fun times!!! but seriously….maybe it’s coz i got a blocked nose but still i wouldn’t think it would effect me diction that much! anyway we move one hahhaa

well off to bed bahahahahhaa but it has been a good day!! happy with what we have done today? hell yeah!!! pumped about seeing girls perform tomorrow?? double hell yeah!! i think this was a really good idea and will definitly pay off in the end!!! love you all!! hope you all dream about Mrs. Fields!!!

Goodbye and FADE haha

Ode to Nicole… Supplier of Mrs Fields

April 28th, 2006 by jemege

OK so i lied… its really my sister that works all the hard hours at Mrs. Fields and i just take all the cookies she brings home and feed them to my fellow group members. She cracked it, so i thought i should now officially tell everyone… ITS MY SISTER thats responsible for the Cookie breakes that JeMeGe so often brag about… argh the guilt was killing me…

Ok back to ensemble…

Thursday JeMeGe started at 2 and worked til past 4:30 on the ensemble. We knew that Cashbag was expecting to see us perform and we decided to polish what we had. We decided to time it. It’s approximately 15 Minutes so far, coz were a group of 3 the ensemble has to go for 24. so were pretty happy that we’ve done this much. After rehearsing, JeMeGe set to painting our black boxes, a vital element in our performance… well they are our set… So while we painted, Cash retrieved his Accent CD’s (finally… god its been like a MONTH since we’ve asked for them??!!) and we spent the rest of the afternoon saying “i like psychodelic and techno music” in a think russian accent… did we feel like MASSIVE drama nerds, spending an efternoon listening to a guy talk in a russian and Scottish accent on the tape while we reapeated after him, while painting boxes black and getting wierd looks from the teachers passing by? yes yes we did…

So today in class we showed what we had. We were pretty pleased with it. Considereing we couldnt use our boxes and had to make do with tables… it went well… (i only laughed once during the scene yay for genelle). I mean we were more then happy when on Cash’s feedback sheet the first two points read, “Great work girls” and “everyone loved it”. but still i definately know that we can improve so much, and i know the other girls are with me on that one. The main problem might be, is editing towards the end. Cash says we might have to much material and will need to cut it down. Dang i hate editing.

Today we also saw Stemluca perform (the other two groups are going to perform on our next lesson). I must say that it was such an impressive performance. They use styalised movement BRILLIANTLY and the fact that they have used a different location to denote “the mind” is extremely impressive. They also manipulate their symbol really well and they will have no trouble passing the stagecraft element area of the criteria. Well done girls! i cant wait to see it later on when its all polished up and ready to perform!

well thats about all from me… i have a life to return to! peace out!

The Canaloni was for the Dog!

April 26th, 2006 by jemege

I don’t think that’s how you spell canaloni- but WHATEVER I’m not one of the ones who went to Italy! As Megan and Genelle have already said- we got a whole heap done on tuesday and we have really goog direction for the rest of our ensemble- seeing as we finished story boarding the WHOLE THING- including the end and a whole heap of song. As megan said on the day- it could basically be a musical! Really happy with the scenes that we blocked yeaterday, but as i really noticed today when showing mr. cash and casssy after athletics- they definatly need polishing and proper accents (HINT HINT MR. CASH- TAPES…cough).

Hope other groups don’t think we’re being really pushy or whatever, wanting to show thw class what we’ve done so far, but we think it would be really beneficial to get some great feedback from our wonderful and talented classmates and would love to see other groups as well!! YAY FOR TEAM WORK!!!

Well that’s about it seeing as megan and genelle have already filled us in on most of what we’ve done- so i’m off, soon to blog again.

Love Jess xoxo

PS Beautiful Girl is a great song megan- just think of the things you could hide in these sleeves!

MOSES!!! tappa tappa tappa

April 25th, 2006 by jemege

I am sooo pleased with how our group worked today!! it was awesome with a capital A!! lol lame!! so anyway as genelle said jemege came over to my house and i must admit we spent the first half hour watching singing in the rain!!! best movie after braveheart!! lol crazy stuff they do in that movie …..BEAUTIFUL GIRL lol jess great song dontcha think lol!! so after a days work yea i thought we did well but i had no idea how much we actually got done!!!! we made and polished another 4-5 scene, watched now and then coz genelle was deprived!! n then storyboarded over 20 scenes!!!! IT WAS AMAZING AHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!! i’m so proud of us coz even though we had like a 3hour break hahahah coz of a well deserved lunch, we were able to sit down and do something constructive !! in these new scenes we have managed to exaggerate our symbol more and added more non-naturalistic stuff and added CONFUCIOUS!!!!! he is very waise!!! haha and jess was clever enough to make up her own confucious saying that i realli hope we can add!! oh and as genelles said we listened to the BRAVEHEART SOUNDTRACK!!!!!!! WOOOOOO!!! i was very excited!!!

i agree with genelle, i think it would be very helpful for the groups to show eachother what they have so far. We would all be able to help eachother and give eachother very helpful feedback!! but i also don’t want to force other groups to show theirs if they don’t want to. but jemege would love to show a group/s what we have so far to see if we’re going on the right track, and also to see if we need to add, remove or emphasise anything in the scenes we have so far!

jemege got a lot of work done today and i am very proud of us all!! well done!!!!

g2g see you arrrrrrrrgh tomoz i thought it was the weekend! damn it!!!

Moses supposes his toes are roses

Love you all!! Meg

btw that’s the moses upposes scene which we watched like 4 times today hhaha

It’s TOESES not NOSES… toses are roses…

April 25th, 2006 by jemege

Well it actually all started afterschool on monday when Jemege had their weekly afterschool rehearsal. This time we basically went over everything we had blocked and incorporated our signs and placards and started work with the all important Neck tie (our symbol you see…)

Lol so after a half hour lesson of how to tie a tie with dear Mrs Lane , ms Baker and Mr Baroudi,  who were walking through the studio at the time, we set up our scene and were going to start polishing.

So to be honest we spent most of the time working out how to handle the ties, and the placards. THANK GOODNESS we decided to start working with them now, because we started off choking ourselves wiht the ties, getting them stuck in our hair, and the signs kept falling over every where and we didnt know where we were going to hide them… or produce them from for that matter lol.

But once we polished it all up, and were happy with what we had, we invited Stemluca to come and watch our performance. I must say our focus was pretty bad… well considering i crack up laughing half way through our moses scene (styalised movement gets me all the time…)… but the girls were really impressed with what we had done… which was comforting. However the fact that they refused to show us what they had (LIKE THEY PROMISED  lol love u guys!) was another struggle in its self. lol so then we made a pact to show eachother everything by friday.

So monday was done and dusted and we were ready to regroup and come together today, at MEGANS HOUSE!! yay !

So today (besides the fact that i was late… pfft no surprise there) we started off watching the “Moses Supposed his toses are roses” tap dance from “Singing in the Rain”. for… inspiration… yes… (plus we love that scene anyway…) We moved into the other room, cleared some space, and put on the Braveheart soundtrack… see that way it would inspire us to write an awesome scene for our main man. (and if you dont know who it is by now your either been living under a rock or reading our blogs with your eyes closed) It was actually a really good idea, as i found that i could improvise to the music alot better, and so did the girls.

So after our quiz show with moses 1 and moses 2 (one of my fav scenes) we added another 1/4 of our show… We have done our William wallace scene (which is really cute, in a barbaric “i want revenge for the death of my wife” kind of way) Then moved onto our… SONG!

We had heaps of ideas on how we were going to include song, but this was the first time we all sat down and worked on one.

We decided we would re-write words to the army “I dont know what ive been told…” song. All in relation to Stalin and the world he has made around him, the lyrics are pretty funny (especially our lame attempts to rhym lol) but the styalised movement that goes with it tops it off i think. so stalin was done and it was tome for lunch. a well deserved break after a good four hours of non stop work. (well it wasnt non stop… but it was a long time wiht only tim tams and the real Braveheart soundtrack to motivate us.)

When we returned to our work, we dicided on storyboarding everything. setting everything in concrete. We realised that he had done 10 (is it ten?.. no wait 11!) 11, scenes out of what i think ended up being 20. so we’re half way girls!

Im really proud of what we came up with today! We at JeMeGe think its time we start performing to eachother… well atleast we want to show ours on friday to the class…

peace out everyone!

lots and lots of love

tanti baci!

genelle

ps, megan, jess and i are now professional at tieing ties… we could seriously do it in our sleep! (lets just try tieing them onstage while saying lines first :p)

As said by genelles and jess our moses scene is awesome!! i love it so much!! we portray the two sets of mind frames of moses and the two possible outcomes that could occur if he does or doesn’t follow god….i think it’s very clever!! IM SO EXCITED ABOUT NEXT REHEARSAL COZ WE ARE GOING TO START ON

                                                        !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!WILLIAM WALLACE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Shout out to Chloe

April 19th, 2006 by jemege

THERE CHLOE!! are you happy???!!! WILL YOU NOW STOP BEATING ME UP???

Thankyou…

Ok back to ensemble. Today in class we had the two very inspiring and fantastic duo of Amelia and Kelly (Drama and Vice captain of 2005) come to visit our class! IT WAS AWESOME coz the girls came in to what they thought would end up being them watching us…When really it was spotlight on THEM and they told us tactics they used, where they were at at this period of time, and were very motivational indeed… jess megan and i shared several looks of releif as we knew we were on the right track. well were on the same track as the brilliant performers of last year anyway…

We showed Cashy and the girls the scene so far and they seemed really impressed by it. It was a real confidence booster to be told by cashbag, kel and meelz that they thought we were heading in the right direction and were pleased by what we had done.

Now Genelle has to learn how to fall without doing her knee every dang time… knee pads are just going to be incorporated somehow. lol (ouchies it really canes! great i stuffed up my knee!)

um nothing else to add really… we hope to start working on william a little more soon…. (yay!!! cant wait!!!) just hope we do him justice.

peace out! your limping capitano,

Genelle

Moses supposes his noses are roses, but moses supposes eroniously

April 18th, 2006 by jemege

Damn straight he does!

So today went really well, i think the whole grouop will agree that even though we are quickly running out of time for this ensemble we are well on our way to achieveing a William Wallace atandard piece (that means really good). Wait that sound really up myself/ ourselves but what i mean is that we are happy with it.

You are right Megan- it is a bummer about rehearsals this week but luckily we have all our classes this week plus this Saturday’s meeting PLUS Monday, tuesday and wednesday. I just know that if we sort out what needs to be done on Saturday, then we’ll have really goog direction for the next week- MAN that was a whole lot of rambling!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh my Golly Gosh- so i heard that Bec Weirdon (don’t know how to spell it) might have gladular fever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That’s so bad- i don’t mean that in a sarctastic haha now their group is going to suffer way- i really truelly madly deeply feel sympathy for Bec and her group- but they are strong, talented, determined girls who i know will have a great performance no matter what obsticles are thrown at them.

Today we got a big scene done with moses appearing on a quiz show which as written above- we are really happy with. Now we are all geared up to work on our next scene with William and Marion- WOOOOOOOOOO LOVERS! We now have 4/5 whole scenes whcih we can pretty flawlessly run through- if i could remember for once to say INCORPORATED instead of INDUSTRIES! cough.

Anyway i’m goning to go to bed now because my doctor said i should and what the doctors says goes!!

Lots of Love Jess xoxo

PS Coach Carter is the best movie- watch it!

derderderder DING!

April 15th, 2006 by jemege

hi all!!!!! thought’d i’d blog now as i wont be able to much this week coming! lol! i totally agree with what genelles said. it’s a poo that some of our ideas are scrapped or changed due to the three member factor! but i think it’s awesome that the three girls are sooooooooooooooo talented that we can manipulate EVERYTHING to our advantage!! Even though the group only has three members i would not have it any other way!! we work well together and come up with great ideas!! this week i think is going to be a tough one. We loose monday, have a tuesday morning rehearsal which i no in advance i’m goin to be dog tired for..the wednesday rehearsal will hav to b scrapped because of musical rehearsal at maz so we’re left with saturday luch where we are just goin to chat and plan the next few rehearsals! the week after that we loose two classes aswelll!!! but i no we will all pull though! so cheer up charlie!! well i dont have much else to say so i’ll be off!!

ciao ciao for now

Throw My Shoe…

April 13th, 2006 by jemege

Hey hey chickens (yes i realised i called eveyone reading this a farm animal… but you know what? I DONT CARE!)

JeMeGe have officially done the first couple of scenes in their ensemble… yay! It took a while but as soon as we got the ball rolling it was all cool in the end.  Story boarding the ensemble helps heaps coz it means we dont have to think about what might happen next, we can just block it coz we have it written down already.

We realised at one of our many rehearsals last week it is going to be extremely hard to show everything we want to show wiht only three members… i know groups are stuggling to get everything across on the stage with four members… the pressure was on and we were really annoyed that we couldnt do some of our ideas due to lack of people in the performance.

I mean we do have three but if we wanted one to narrate and present a scene before (or behind) her, it means we are only left with two characters which makes the scene look a little bare (in my opinion… i could be wrong. who knows)

Its fustrating me that the only thing stopping us and/or stalling us is the fact that we only have three members in the group. It means we have to go over things and cut people out, or combine personalities together, which isnt as easy as it seems.

Other then that its coming along quite nicely, We have used placards and signs, narration, Tableau, styalised movement and transformation of place, prop and character already in the opening scene plus have some wicked symbloism we cant wait to start manipulating. Also, we have included some constrast between the mind frame of William and Stalin pretty early, so hopefully the audiece will understand what we are trying to get at.

Jemege have been getting some pretty good feedback from others in our class, and i must say I too am also impressed with what i see being created before our eyes (not only my group but the others is what i mean). Im proud not only of the jemege girls, but everyone else in our drama class who (even though we have had heaps of disruptions and what not) have ploughed forward and are starting to produce great creations of work.

Love you guys almost as much as we love William Wallace…

Peace out

genelle
