Starstruck by Breeanna

Friday, March 31st, 2006

So today we went on our first excursion to see ‘Fallen Sky’. It was pretty good and the metal frames were very impressive might i say.

My group came up with this awesome ides for symbol in our ensemble which i am sooooooo excited about just quietly!

Emmanuella and i were chatting today about ensemble and how we want to be able to help eachother out throughout this whole ensemble process. It’s so true. I’m so gald that our class is a class that aren’t going to become competitive freaks, and will support eachother in these harrowing times (man i can’t spell). In the words of the lovely Ben Lee- “we are all in this together” ( no matter how corny that may sound!).

The play we saw today involved heaps of non-naturalistic techniques etc. which is great when thinking of stuff to include in our ensemble. YAY FOR INSPIRATION!

Anyway… enough rubbish from me

Peace out playa

So i’m actually writing a blog i actually can’t believe that i’m doing this. If Alysia sees this she just might have a heart attack from shock.

So…ENSEMBLE! I know we didn’t have drama today but i thought i should blog something anyway. Yes i was scepticle at first about the setting, (and i still believe that the jungle would be an ideal environment), but  i was genuinly surprised and the brilliant ideas that my group members have come up with- MEGAN AND GENELLE ARE SO SMART!

The performance is actually really soon, and i’m so impressed that one of the groups is acting already. It makes me feel really behind, but i know that we’ll get there in the end and we’ll have a great time doing it.

Just like genelle said, cleopatra (comin’ at cha) was a no- deal and was later replaced with some pretty wicked guys, which are going to work really well.

Well megan and genelle have pretty much summed up our status so far so i’ll be off, to return agin with another blog!

Confucius say… drama class go on many excursion to far off land.

Catch ya on the flip side.

Love Jess

P.S. Never forget that “they can take our lives but they can never take our freedom!”- thank you Will

Whoa this whole thing is all new to me so i hope it works (the blogs i mean lol). Ok well after reading genelle’s last entry i kinda get the idea of what I’m supposed to write. Well yet again…i left my books at school or I can’t find them so I’m going off the top of my head lol. Today in class we decided to add more characters, which is great because it will add more substance to our play but means more research!! WHOOOO!! So that’s what I’m doing now. Before I forget I’ll just say that I LOVE my group!! They are both awesome and share my love for WILL!!!!!!!! As we read more about our influential people, the more they begin to link, it’s amazing!! Sorry I was really excited. You see it took me a while to get over the setting!!! Boy, that knocked me right off! ‘In the mind’ where did that come from?? Well it’s not that bad now….really lol. Things are falling into place and the group has had many great ideas!!

Today we also decided on outside-of-school rehearsal times. I feel bad because most of the week I’m busy and I don’t want it to affect the group.

Well I can’t remember anymore lol I’m surprised i remembered the password hahaha!! Till next time! BTW “a life without freedom is no life at all ” wise words from the main man!!

Hurdles suck…

Now im not saying that our group hasnt met our share of hurdles… beleive me, sometimes i feel like we’re in a brick box and all were doing is hitting wall after wall after wall.

Today perhaps was the worst of all… we realised (well… we were polietly told) that with only two characters we might run short of interesting points to perform… today in drama we had to regroup, basically start reseach all over again hence delaying our process…

so we’ve got 4 characters again…

one group has started acting already which is great, however really scary as well as we (well i do anyway) feel like we are ages away from doing that yet.

plus the fact that we have heaps of disrupted classes too is scary… plus SAC’s SAC’s SAC’s galore…

not as though no one warned me… kelly from last years stella class aways told me “ensembles were never gonna be easy”… i was hoping she would be telling fabricated lies.

I was wrong.

Oh well… at least we’ve met this hurdle pretty early.

peace out

much love

genelle xoxo

Stalin the Gags man…

ok so first post… here goes…

When we decided on groups i was really pumped, were the only group of three in the class, because of that itll be challenging (geesh learn how to spell…) but i have confidence thatll well be able to come up with something entertaining…

Um, initial reaction when we read the setting of the ensemble… “in the mind”… jess worded it perfectly, “you know what, i think they should have set it in the jungle… you can do heaps in the jungle… its less confusing there” needless to say i think its pretty obvious that we were ataken back by it. It was Certainly going to be… challenging… yes lets go with challenging…

We had some pretty good initial ideas, and pretty much narrowed down our selection of historical characters in the third or forth lesson.

We met up twice in the holidays, once at megans house for a “ensemble sleepover” where i must admit most of the night was committed to “formal gossip”, though we did get work done and watched Forest Gump. The second time was at my house where we watched “Braveheart” together… needless to say, we fell in love with dear william wallace…

Today in class we decided to cut one of the three characters off our list… it appeared that cleopatra would not make the cut.

I’m excited because today we got the ball rolling again and came up with a few more ideas about possible interpretations and links between characters, however we still need to really work on the actual theme of “with our thoughts we make the world” a little more.

I think its safe to say that all three of us are a little nervous about some of our ideas… im personally scared that we might be going off track a little bit. However talking to cashy today really did clear up some worries for us. Especailly about it being “in the mind”.

Its gona be tough, but it should be worthwhile, espeically since there are members of other groups who have offered to help us and us in return…

signing off… peace out
